I was waiting for my mom to pick me up after fifth period today when I see this couple talking in the hall. I’ve seen them around together plenty of times and instinctly think “Aww, they’re cute!”
They are told by a school security guard to go to class and the couple starts getting closer to where I’m standing.
“Why can’t you put me first for once?”, I hear the girl say.
“Whatever, if this is our relationship on the line then whatever! Just know that I love you.”, says the boy.
“Then why can’t you do this for me?”, says the pleeding girl.
“I can’t do this. I love you. Bye.”, states the boy.
The girl is left there with a crushed heart but manages to hold herself together. The only word that she can bare to shed is “Ok…”. Inaudible to her ex boyfriend as he walks away leaving her alone.
The poor girl watches him leave and realizes that what is done, is done.
After a couple minutes, I’m still waiting there for my mom after all this when I hear someone running down the hallway. I thought there might be some sort of accident or emergency but when I looked up I saw the girl again. She was running down the hall looking for the boy that left her with broken heart. A few minutes passed and she was sobbing her way back to class.
This occurence opened my eyes! That girl should of never ran after him but she did. She ran back because she loves him. Her heart couldn’t bare the pain. That boy should have listened to her, that is all she wanted. To be heard. He couldn’t put in one last effort and he made it easy on himself. He chose to walk away from the situation; simply leave.
What is your opinion on this? Tell me! I’m curious to see the different perspectives.
